Character of घटोत्कचः
Answer:
In spite of being the son of a demoness हिडिम्बा, घटोत्कचः behaves like a perfect gentleman. He does not forget to mention the elders युदिष्ठिर like when he bows down to eart! धृतराष्ट्र He show his respect for धृतराष्ट्र हिडिम्बा further by describing him as the source of all auspicious things. While talking with दुर्योधन and शकुनि shows his skill in repartee.
2. Message conveyed by step श्रीकृष्णा
Answer:
घटोत्कचः conveys site, श्रीकृष्णा s message to धृतराष्ट्र first and a final message to all kuru princes later. In the first message श्रीकृष्णा warns the old king धृतराष्ट्र about the grim future of losing hundred sons and asks him to be prepared. In the final message gute and other princes are told that death would come upon them with the rays of the sun. Lord on our’s message begins with short, benign sentence दर्मसमाचार – Do what is right. Have regard for your kinsmen.’ and the third sentence-whatever is your desire, fulfil here on the earth prepares us for the final climax-death will come upon you with the rays of the sun.

भास, name is famous in Sanskrit literature. His plays are known as Terrich and the present extract is taken from his one act play दूतघटोत्कचम्। After the death of अभिमन्यु, Lord कृष्ण sends घटोत्कच as his envoy. He approaches धृतराष्ट्र and is courteously received by the latter. घटोत्कच brings three messages : One to yakie, another to geter and the third to 5 princes which is an admonition and a warning that death would be upon them with the rays of the sun on the morrow.

शकुनि – If it were possible to conquer the earth by mere words, if by words and yet more words it could be done, all the warriors were indeed killed.
घटोत्कच – This is Toofa speaking. O prof, leaving dice be prepared for arrows.
दुर्योधन – Ah, ha! He displays his original nature. We, too, are terrible, having the fierce nature of demons.
घटोत्कच – Heaven forbid! You are much more ruthless than demons because The demons do not burn their brother asleep in a house of lac. Similarly the demons do not touch that way the head of a brother’s life.
दुर्योधन – You have indeed come here as an envoy, and not to fight. Take your message and go; we are not those who kill the messengers.
घटोत्कच – (Angrily) Are you insulting me saying that I am an envoy? No. indeed, I am not an envoy. Strike me all together. (All get up).
धृतराष्ट्र petrona, my grandson. Please forbear, forbear. Pay heed to what I am saying.
घटोत्कच – All right, let it be, I am an envoy at grandfather’s word. O you kings listen to the final message of श्रीकृष्ण। Do what is right. Fullfil the particular expectations of the brothers, whatever is desired in your mind, do all that here in this world. For with the rays of the son. Death in the gules of rose as if it was the most excellent advice will come
upon you.

धृतराष्ट्रः – एहि एहि पुत्र।
