Comprehension
Question 1.
After reading this poem silently, close your eyes for a while and visualize the beauty of the mountain in the early morning. Describe your mental picture of Kangchenjunga in short sentences, phrases and words.
Answer:
You can start like this: I see a big mountain. White clouds are moving up the mountain. In the east, I see the sun rising. It is clad in purple glory. The snow-covered peaks of the Himalayan range are glowing with white light and seem calm and serene. They seem beautiful as they have put on shining white robes. They are bathing in golden light at the horizon.
I find morning dews and different changing moist colour-shades. It seems that these colour-shades are painting the peaks of the snow-covered mountains. The sun beyond the hills seems as if it were kissing the hills. The love-light lingers the whole day.
At the close of the day, the faint light spreads over the hills and it makes them more beautiful. The voice coming from the hills really thrills me and I makes me feel that it is a voice of soul living : in the mountains.

Answer:
Respected Principal, teachers and all my dear friends, Today I am going to talk about Love. It is the most powerful feeling that has been gifted by God to everyone. It has such a force that all other feelings get subdued against it.
If we bear grudge against anybody, we ourselves have to feel its pain. All the time, we keep on thinking about it and have adverse effect of it on our health. If we retaliate keeping in mind the hatred or jealousy, it may tell upon our helath and we’ll be the loser on all fronts.
On the contrary, if we I follow the principle of ‘forgive and forget’ we will be saved from agony. Love begets Love. If we follow this principle, the things in our life would be easy. dealings with others would be smooth and our life would be more cheerful.

– એ. ક્રિસ્ટિના આલ્બર્સ
